Klinik Psikolog & Psikoterapist

What is the therapy process like?Psychotherapy is conducted in sessions or meetings. Meetings are held at predetermined frequencies, and the day and time of the meeting are determined in advance. The aim of the first meeting is to clarify why the client has come. If the therapist believes they can be of assistance, they will provide information about the potential approach and, with the agreement of both parties, the process will begin. Throughout the process, both the therapist and the client will have responsibilities. Starting the therapy process also implies that the therapist and the client have reached an agreement on this matter.
-
How long does each session last?Individual sessions last between 45-60 minutes as standard. Couple sessions last between 60 minutes and 1 hour and 15 minutes. Additionally, although not very often, session duration may vary in some special applications.
-
How often will I attend to sessions?Typically, it is appropriate to have a session once a week. However, in some cases, it can be done every 2 weeks. As progress is made in the process, the frequency of sessions is usually reduced gradually to prepare for termination. For instance, a frequency that starts once a week may later be adjusted to every 2 weeks, and if necessary, the frequency can be increased again. All these adjustments are made based on the client's specific situation and with the joint decision of the therapist and the client.

Tell me about privacyEverything discussed during the sessions is confidential and will not be shared with others without the knowledge and request of the client. If the client requests, information can be shared with other health professionals (such as a psychiatrist). In such cases, what will be discussed and what information will be provided is consulted with the client beforehand. In some cases, with the knowledge and consent of the client, the work done can be shared with other colleagues for educational and professional development purposes, concealing the client's identity information. There are some exceptions to the principle of confidentiality. Suppose the therapist believes that the client will harm himself/herself or someone else or acquires information that another person is engaged in such an act. In that case, the therapist can share information to prevent these situations. On the other hand, the therapist must provide information if a court requests.

How many sessions will I need to attend? How many sessions the therapy process will take varies depending on the person, the problem and the techniques applied. Therefore, the information I have written below should not be considered a guarantee, your specific situation may be very different and may require a longer or shorter process. Since I prefer short-term approaches, my number of sessions is generally between 4 and 10. On the other hand, some problems may require up to 40 sessions of work.

Online or face-to-face therapy? There is no difference between online and face-to-face therapy in terms of the techniques and approach used. However, since these two forms are different from each other, the way some techniques are applied may differ. Both approaches have their own advantages and disadvantages. It is easier to access online therapy. For example, even if you live in a small city and have limited access to therapy services, you can receive service from anywhere in the World with online therapy. I prefer face-to-face work to online work whenever possible, but in cases where such an opportunity is not possible, online therapy will of course be better than not getting any help.
-
Are the costs of online and face-to-face therapy different?I do not apply different fees for online and face-to-face therapy sessions. On the other hand, since you undergo online therapy without leaving your home, there will be cost advantages such as time and travel expenses

What is the cost of therapy?Pricing for therapy is arranged per session. There is a certain standard fee per session. This fee is different for couple calls. Additionally, in rare cases, fees may vary for some special applications.
